SUMMARY:Trail: The River Runs through the Museum of Cambridge
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to announce the launch of our new Museum trail\, in collaboration with Cambridge Past\, Present and Future and the Nature Festival 2024. The Festival runs from the 25th May to the 30th June and the trail will be available during the whole period. \nThis trail was co-designed by residents of Abbey ward in Cambridge\, with new labels highlighting the objects’ importance to the river Cam and our connection to the natural world. Follow the trail though every room of the Museum\, answering questions as you go to experience the close tie the people of Cambridge have had with the river for over 400 years. \nThe trail is part of the River Cam CAN (Climate Action through Nature) project\, supported by the National Lottery Communities Fund. \n  \nDates \n25th May – 30th June 2024 \n  \nTickets \nThis activity is included in the price of your Museum admission\, just ask for a Trail Guide at the front desk to take part. \n  \nPlace \nMuseum of Cambridge \n2-3 Castle Street \nCambridge \nCB3 0AQ \n  \nAccessibility \nYou can read about our accessibility information on our website. SUMMARY:The Wild Escape - Comic Trail!
DESCRIPTION:This Easter Holidays and all through April\, families are invited to get creative and help nature escape the Museum. On your visit\, choose a creature and create a comic\, drawing how it would return to nature! \nTake a picture and send it to us and we will upload your comic as part of the online work that will launch on Earth Day 2023. \nWe can’t wait to see where nature takes you! \nThis trail is free and suitable for ages 7+. The Museum of Cambridge is excited to join this project to celebrate nature in our collections! \nTaking place from January to July 2023\, The Wild Escape invites children to find a favourite animal in their local museum and create an artwork imagining its journey to a natural habitat. \nThe pictures and stories children create will be brought together in a collective work of art that imagines a better future for the wildlife on our doorstep\, launched online and in venues across the UK on Earth Day 2023. \nThe Wild Escape is led by Art Fund alongside hundreds of museums\, artists and environmentalists\, in partnership with WWF\, the RSPB\, National Trust and English Heritage. \nThe Wild Escape is made possible thanks to funding from Arts Council England’s National Lottery Project Grants\, with additional support from Kusuma Trust\, Foyle Foundation and a group of generous individuals and trusts. \nThe Wild Escape is inspired by Wild Isles\, a landmark BBC series exploring the flora and fauna of the UK. \n
