SUMMARY:Activity: More Tales from the Fens\, a Storytelling and Puppet Making Workshop for Children
DESCRIPTION:How were the Gogmagog hills created? Just why is the rest of Cambridge so flat? \nCambridgeshire has a rich history of folktales and storytelling and there are many fascinating tales about the area. \nYou can find out about the place in which we live in More Tales from the Fens\, a follow-up to our Heroines\, Highwayman and Hereward the Wake: Tales from the Fens workshop\, which ran over Easter. Puppet maker Heather Colbert will tell some lesser known tales from Fenland folklore and you will help her by making simple rod puppets with which to perform these stories in our very own Museum puppet theatre. \nWe will be recording More Tales from the Fens and sharing it on our website for others to enjoy. \n More Tales from the Fens is suitable for children aged 7-15. Materials will be provided. Tickets are free\, but you must book so that we can manage attendance. \nThis activity is part of Tracing Traditions\, a project funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund and delivered by the Museums Association
