I am the Liar’s Medal, given out to the best, most audacious liar as the prize in a lying competition. There’s a long tradition of lying competitions here in East Anglia, all held at pubs and clubs across the region. Participants competed to tell the most entertaining lies to a gathered audience, with the winner chosen by an expert panel of judges.

I am quite a demanding object for the Museum to look after- because I am made from metal, which corrodes easily if it gets damp, I must be kept dry at all times and in a room with moderate humidity. This is quite a challenge in a building that’s over 400 years old!
