Spooky Tales with Sarah Brady
26 October, 2:00 pm - 2:30 pmFree
What do a dress and a chair have in common?
Our visitors don’t just come during the day… at night, the Museum is said to have it’s fair share of ghosts too!
Over the years, there have been many a tale related to the old White Horse Inn building. Unexplained footsteps, foreign smells… eerie stuff. One particularly chilling story involves a hidden room. A former curator of the Museum during the late 1940s, is supposed to have noticed a window outside the Museum which he couldn’t place inside. After some investigating, he eventually found a blocked up door that lead to a previously unknown room. In this room was nothing, save for a chair over the back of which was draped a vintage dress. No one is sure of who the dress belonged or of why the room was blocked off – though there are some ideas.
Storyteller, Sarah Brady, will be telling us more about this tale, along with some other local stories, at 2pm and 3pm on Wednesday 23 October and Saturday 26 October for 4, half hour family sessions.
