Winter Calling

Winter calls to you.
Winter stories and songs to warm the bones and stir the heart. From true events in snow-clad forests, to solstice legends and fiery folk tales, this is a show, humming with myth and music, that celebrates the warmth, hope and glittering imagination that bring us together in the dark season.
Storyteller Hannah Moore and Folk musician Danny Pedler share an evening of winter stories and songs to warm the bones and stir the heart. This is a show that celebrates the light, warmth and dreaming imagination that brings us together in the dark season and guides us through to Spring.
Drawing on a deep knowledge and love of tradition, history and oral heritage, this collaboration between Hannah and Danny twinkles with the spells of imagination. Expect an evening of characters, traditions, mysteries and magic, woven through with rich melody and song.

Hannah Moore
Drawing on a background in theatre and dance, (The RSC, Oxford Playhouse, Circomedia, National Centre for Folk Arts) Hannah’s work is rooted in the question ‘how does the collective imagination and wisdom of the old tales speak to and illuminate the world today?’
Hannah trained as a traditional storyteller on the School of Storytelling’s flagship course Storytelling Beyond Words and since performed and taught storytelling across the UK and abroad. She has toured shows and creative storytelling experiences to a wide range of contexts, from theatres, arts centres and rural touring schemes to festivals, conferences, educational institutions, community settings and international online programmes.
She is also a ceilidh caller, and proud to tour the Fairy Tale Ceilidh – an immersive dance party where participants dance their way through the stories.
