October Half Term 2026 – Corn Dollies and Witch Bottles

Folklore runs through the Museum this Half Term!
Inspired by the Museum’s new temporary exhibition, Folklore, we’re bringing a Witch Bottle trail and Corn Dolly crafting into the Museum as the witchy vibes escape the attic.
Follow the trail throughout the permanent displays, collecting the ingredients for your very own Witch Bottle – a protective charm to safeguard you against witches. Make a wish and take your bottle away with you for good luck.
Find our Engagement Officer inside the Museum to learn all about Corn Dollies and the folklore behind these wheat charms. Have a go at making your own Countryman’s Favour to take home as well!
Both the trail and craft are included with your Museum admission (children 16 and under go FREE)
