Summer with the Museums

24 July 2022 - 29 August 2022

We are as excited as ever to be joining the University of Cambridge Museums for Summer with the Museums! If you’re looking for FREE activities, workshops and things to do, we’ll have it for you this summer!

We have a whole host of FREE events for families of all ages.

At the Museum: Little Feet, Big Impressions (0-5 year olds and their carers)

This summer connect with your community through active stay and play sessions at the Museum of Cambridge. You and your little will explore archaeology, medicine and music through hands on toys and games.

With dates through the summer there is lots to explore. Suitable for children aged 0-5 and their carers.

More information and booking is on our website: https://www.museumofcambridge.org.uk/event/littlefeetbigimpressions2807/

At the Museum: Time Capsules (Families of all ages and young people)

We’ve a whole host of onsite activities for families and young people to help you get creative over the summer period!

  • My Buried Treasure: Investigate time capsules from the past and make your very own treasure box in which to store your message for the future! Suitable for families of all ages.
  • My Technicolour Self : What if people could see the true you in all of its brilliance and not just the face you show to the outside world? Suitable for people aged 13-17.
  • Our Space: We will help you to construct your own mini world of memories by crafting a time-capsule room from your home in a shoe-box! We can’t wait to see and hear about the best things your family did together during lockdown and make a record you can look back on in years to come! Suitable to families of all ages.

More information and booking is on our website: https://www.museumofcambridge.org.uk/events/

At the Museum: Willoughby’s Wonders (Families of all ages)

Pop along to the Museum and enjoy our NEW trail for families of all ages. You’ll get the chance to delve into our collection to learn all about the history of Cambridge and its people.

No booking required, just come along – the trail is included with your entry to the Museum.

Information about visiting the Museum is available on our website: https://www.museumofcambridge.org.uk/visit/

At Home: Museum of a Shelf (Families of all ages)

Museums display objects together to tell a story about a time, place, person, or event. At the Museum of Cambridge, we want to see what objects tell your story in your own home.

Make a museum on a shelf by following some instructions and creating a museum label. Then share pictures of your #MuseumonaShelf with the Museum of Cambridge.

Download a PDF instruction sheet and get started telling your story.
