The Grandfather Clock

£100.00

I’m Cambridge, born and bred. I was made by famed local clockmakers Samuel Fletcher and Joseph Hitzmann, just up the road from the Museum.

Like all good grandfathers, I’ve had a long life, and seen a lot in my time- the stories I could tell you! I used to belong to a Mr. Pluck, the landlord of the Three Pigeons Pub, and I stood in the bar telling time to the punters and eavesdropping into their conversations…

Because clocks like me are complex creatures, with intricate mechanisms made of wood, metal and glass (not to mention the catgut!), I am quite a demanding object for the Museum to care for.

Help them out by adopting me as your Grandfather. I might even tell you a few of my tales…
